1956 is the year that First Assembly of God was established in beautiful Naples, Florida. At that time this community was a sleepy fishing town. Roads were few, many of them still unpaved. God began to stir in the hearts of men with vision and faith…and a new church was birthed into existence. The founder of First Assembly staked their claim at 2132 Shadowlawn Drive. A simple facility, but one filled with the presence of the Holy Spirit. As the congregation began to develop under the leadership of dedicated pastors, new buildings were added. (The historical archives documenting these great events were destroyed in flooding from a hurricane.) In 1988, David Mallory was called to serve, and is still serving, as pastor. The following year, an out-reach ministry, now known as the “Campus of Care”, was launched and would deeply affect the future of this congregation.

Zoning issues ensued and re-location deemed necessary by the Supreme Court was the only solution. In compliance with the County zoning requirements, acreage was purchased in an area that would permit not only a church but a campus that would allow us to house, clothe, feed and restore broken and hurting people. Little did any one realize that this “out of the way” piece of property would become one of the busiest hub centers in our community.

Truly, what satan meant for evil, God meant for good! Beautiful facilities have been built and the new Family Worship Center is presently under construction. The same presence of the Holy Spirit that was evidenced in 1988 is still present among us today.

Now, 50 years later, the vision is still alive. Through many mountain top and valley experiences, First Assembly has remained faithful to the call of the Master. Naples is no longer a quiet little town. Everywhere you look there are new developments and miles of paved roads. As we cross the milestone of 50 years, our eyes continue to look unto the fields of humanity that are ready for the harvest.
