Development of the project:
Name of the Project: Sows a seed in the Heart of a child.
School to sponsor: San Jose of mangos:
Location: Risaralda-Colombia (Pereira City).
How the project was born:
A group of Christian leaders of the First Assembly Ministries church, in NaplesFlorida.
We were called and guided by God to form this ministry and thus to help 147 children of a rural school in Colombia.
As witnesses of this situation and applying the word of God and to help others and to give of you eat to the hungry one, we decided to collect funds to provide scholastic equipment and meals to these children.
Difficulties of the zone:
1. - The children walk to the school under severe climatic conditions, some must walk up to two hours to arrive at the school.
2. - The government only provides meals for forty children with all the school and this is distributed by drawings.
3. - There are two levels by each scholastic classroom.
1. - The mayor ship only subsidizes the program for a 20% of the children and often the school faces the budgets cut on the part of the local government.
2. - For some of the children this is the only meal of the day.
3. - The children must pay the value of the lunch that is 4 dollars monthly for each child.
4. - The average family income is 25 to 30 dollars to the week and many of these families have 4 to 5 children at the school.
The children present health problems of health like undernourishment, headaches, dizziness, anemia etc.
To collecting funds sufficient to provide meals for 147 children at a cost $5,5 dollars monthly per child for a total $808 dollars.
Provide scholastic equipment by a total of $600 dollars a year.
Send materials for $250 dollars annual
Collect the money for ticket of two missionarys who travels annually to audit the development of the project.
The school population is 147 children recorded from 1 to 5 degree and the junior high school from 6 to 8 grade and the ages vary from 5 to19 years.
Many of the families share the common denominator of living under a level of extreme poverty.
Our goals with this project are to take to these children the word of God to love others as he love to us, giving and sharing what we have with the others and thus to contribute to the social development of these families.
